The New South Wales Premiere of GoldenEra will take place at SXSW Sydney on 21 October 2023.
The screening will be proceeded by an extended introduction with director Drew Roller.
A celebration of a magical moment in video games history, when 3D games burst onto screens & into our imaginations, GoldenEra showcases GoldenEye 007, a game that inspired a generation of gamers with its innovative gameplay and a wildly popular multiplayer mode that would change the gaming industry forever.
GoldenEye 007 broke all the rules and sold 8 million copies worldwide for Nintendo, a company synonymous with plumbers, princesses and mushrooms. Based on the beloved James Bond franchise and from a time when movie license games were always bad, GoldenEye 007 would debut on the groundbreaking ‘Nintendo 64’, showcasing the machine’s ability to deliver breath taking open world experiences synonymous with freedom and exploration. The story of the creation and legacy of the video game GoldenEye 007 is told by academics, journalists, celebrities, fans and the game’s designers themselves.
