The Perth Mint has unveiled the new Honey Ryder 1oz Silver Minted Mini Coin, the second in a series of 007 precious chibi character coins.
The coin, struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, is part of a series of 2,500 coins, and is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu.
The Minted Minis are inspired by Japanese chibi, a term used to describe a specific style of caricature where characters are drawn in an exaggerated way, with inspiration taken from Japanese anime.
The reverse of the character-shaped coin portrays a stylised colour representation of Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress) in her iconic white bikini with a knife belt and shell as seen in 1962’s Dr. No. The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented with the dates of her reign ‘1952-2022’, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination and 2023 year date.
Each coin is presented in a clear acrylic case, allowing both sides of the coin to be displayed standing up, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
